Quick update
I had a Dr. appointment today, I was told all looked good. She is growing perfectly and is a squirmy little bugger! When they were trying to get her heart beat she moved all over to avoid the doppler! I have another ultrasound on February 11th at 8:30, that will tell us, FOR SURE, if it's a boy or a girl:-)

Nose bleeds suck!
Ok, so what the heck is the deal with having nose bleeds just because you're pregnant? This morning I woke up with one which caused me to be late getting to work...I had to have a kleenex in my nose while in the shower! Then tonight I got another one, except this one was bad! We're talking full out gushing, huge mess in the bathroom sink, freak the crap out of Shawn nose bleed! I considered going to the ER, but then I thought "their just gonna coderize my nose and that'll hurt!" so I didn't go. It eventually stopped after about 25 minutes. This is the 5th one in about two weeks. According to all the websites it's totally normal, because pregnancy causes your blood vessels to expand and the increased blood supply makes them more delicate and more likely to break. There are lots of things that happen during pregnancy that no one tells you about! Thank goodness for the book "Belly Laughs" by Jenny McCarthy which opened my eyes to lots of things, EXCEPT for the nose bleeds!

Ultrasound!
Descriptions of the pictures: #1 is of a foot, you can see the little toes and heal. #2 is from underneath, legs and butt, with a circle around the genitals...looks like a girl! #3 is a full pic of the baby, head, body and legs! She is lounging around!
I had an ultrasound today. It started off a good day, I was there on time, they called me in on time...but my HUSBAND was MIA! I'll forgive him this time, but never again;-) He DID feel really bad about not being there, in his defense.
It is amazing seeing this little person, it looks like a real human, or at least the outline of one! You can see the little nose and mouth, legs, arms, it's crazy! Today was checking for down syndrome, and according to the tech, because the nose bone was prominent and also something about some skin on the back of the neck, it looks like everything is good to go. They also took some blood from my finger (honestly I'm already getting sick of needles) and that will tell us for sure if there is anything wrong.
As you can tell by the pictures, it looks like it might be a SHE! So for now, I'll be referring to a HER. Because it's really soon, the tech said it could be either/or but right now, it looks like a little girl! I'm really excited. Honestly I didn't care if it was a boy or a girl, Shawn on the other hand wanted a boy, like all men! I did have the feeling it was a girl tho. The reason I felt that way was because of what someone told me about astrology. Because the baby will be born at the beginning of July, she will be a Cancer. I was told that if it's a boy, he would be a sweet, loyal boy who will love his mom and be an all around good kid. If it's a girl, she would be a devil child! Because I believe we eventually all reap what we sow, I was destined to have a daughter who would be naughty! However my Mother in law is a Cancer and a very nice person, so who knows! It seems that everyone thinks it's a girl. Although none of these guesses are based on any sort of science (Jessica DeSchepper relies on some theory of the nose widening or not, widening nose=boy,) sometimes an intuition is a pretty reliable thing! So for now, because it's not definitive, we won't be buying anything "girly" but will refer to her as a HER!

Sick while pregnant?
It's like driving while intoxicated, it's just a bad idea!
So on Monday I started getting a cold and on Tuesday, my voice was gone! Took a sick day on Tuesday and avoided talking all day and it came back on Wednesday. I was still sore but on Wednesday I chose to work, I mean come on, it was New Years Eve and I wasn't staying home! So I talked all day on Wednesday for work. Have you ever known me not to talk, seriously? I went to a bar New Years Eve and had to talk over music. By 1am my voice was gone, AGAIN. Except this time, it's not coming back and my throat still hurts. As do my ears and the rest of my body in general.
Here's the problem (outside of feeling like crap): medication...or the lack there of. I have been taking Tylenol Cold. I know what some of you will say "you shouldn't take medications when you're pregnant" but my doctor told me "don't torture your self". But Tylenol is really the only thing I can take. I want to take Nyquil, and all the other great things I took before the bambino. But what to do...the first of many sacrifices I will make for my child and I'm very willing to do so! I will suffer through and take another sick day. Hopefully I'll be better by Monday!
